What a wonderful pet fountain. It took no more than 5 minutes to set up start to finish. It holds approximately 1 gallon of water.
It comes with a filter and 2 replacements. When I received this, the first thing I did was to wet the filter with cold water until no more charcoal flecks washed out. I secured it into the spot for it. It is shaped a certain way that you cannot accidentally put it in backwards. The pump for this is already fastened into place, so you don't have to try and secure it yourself. I have had to do this on other fountains and it is a royal pain. The fountain is in two pieces, the base and the top. I secured the top on by placing it in it's designated spot and gently pressing until I heard it click into place. Then, I took a gallon pitcher of water and filled it until I got to the Max line. The max and minimum line are clearly marked so that you do not overfill it, and you know when it needs to be refilled. I then simply plugged it into the wall. It is a QUIET fountain. So you do not hear the trickling of water all over the house and think you left a faucet on. This is a great pet fountain and Kitty highly recommends it!
